Peter Monahan is a native of Mornington village on the East coast of Ireland. Having lived and worked in local city Drogheda for over 50 years.  

Peter began his working life at a young age by joining his family drapers business 'Monahan's' of West street Drogheda, a business which was established by his father Gerry Monahan Snr. Monahan's was one of the best known department stores in the North East of Ireland for many years and even boasted the first ever grocer shop in the town.

Peter was educated at the Christian Brothers in Drogheda, and then progressed to study at Blackrock College, a boarding school at the time and played rugby throughout his school years for Blackrock college and Blackrock colleage rubgy club, then finishing his career with Drogheda RFC(now Boyne RFC) in the mid 1980's, a team which he captained for two seasons.

As a businessman for over 50 years, Peter has develpoed a strong knowledge in business operatios gained from years of experience working in direct retail and in the broader business to business context.

Having spent a large portion of the early 1990's dealing with international clothing brands, Nike, Addidas, Levis and Wrangler as a clothing retailer and later as a manufacturer working internationally in Malaysia, China, and Russia.

Dry Ice Energy Ireland was established in 2016 at the UNIT 11D, Newgrange Business Park, Donore Rd, Lagavooren, Drogheda, Co. Louth, A92 EA27, Ireland following a visit to Essen, Germany where he discovered Dry Ice Energy GMBH(Germany).

Their compact and innovative dry ice blasting machine blew him away as it revealed its breath of cleaning abilties and the level of innovation in its engineering, design and packaging.  

It was obvious that the Champ Turbo blasting machine had the potential to help industrial business from multpile sectors in Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Not only that the Champ Turbo had the abiltiy to improve; cleaning and maintenance processeses, increase productivity when cleaning, deburring - with less machine downtime during cleaning, ultimatley reducing costs, benfiting profitability and on the broader spectrum increasing competitiveness.

Peter has a strong passion for cars, his favourite being classic Jaguars from the 60's, 70's and 80's. He has been a member of the IJDC for over 30 years and is the proud owner of a 1969 MK2 240 Jaguar.

He is a member of the local chamber of trade and stays actively involved and connected. Having run a family business for 4 decades in Drogheda the Monahan name is very well known and respected in the local business community.

Peter is also a member of the local Boyneside Trail Committee(BTC). The BTC is a group with a strong ambitions to improve the local costal and riverside areas in and around Drogheda, most notably the Boyne estuary.

They are campaigining to raise funding to build a cycle way for the betterment of the local area and to boost tourism in Drogheda. A campaign which is ongoing.
